As I write I feel more and more the need for digressions into definitions and clarifications about what I even mean. Language drifts a lot, and lately it seems more so in a very intentioned way, and so I think it is worth trying to pin some things down so that we are all on the same page. I don’t want to have to create a dictionary of terms so that people can understand what I am getting at, but… here we are. Between very lax schooling of English, increased linguistic drift perhaps due to the internet and media, the intentional changing of the meanings of words in the media, and general loss of fidelity when somewhat more technical terms move from being used primarily by people who care a great deal about the meaning of words to those everyone else’s daily use.
So this post is going to serve as a sort of repository and planning board for future posts, either as a place to link to when I want to use “commutative justice” and not explain it again, or as a place to plan out “Hey, I need to write a post on commutative and distributive justice.” It’s going to look like a list of words that will overtime be made into words with links to posts and grow longer as topics get added.
If anyone thinks of topics or concepts I have missed, either because they are important or I keep using them and you don’t know what the hell I mean by them, please post them in the comments!
